BIO

PETROS CHARALAMBOUS

Petros’ early passion for photography, theater, and art led him to Hollywood, where he studied Film and Television Directing at California State University. Since 2000, he has directed commercials, documentaries, theater, and films.

His debut feature Boy on the Bridge premiered at the Rome Film Festival, screened at over 50 international festivals, and won 13 awards. His second feature, Patchwork, had its world premiere in competition at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

He has also directed numerous short films and feature documentaries, opera and theater productions presented at major festivals. He has also been recognized in photography competitions and exhibitions.

Petros is a member of the European Film Academy, Hellenic Film Academy, the Directors Guild of Cyprus, and the Nicosia Anticancer Committee. He is the owner of Film Etc. Creative Space.

He is currently developing his new feature 4 Hrs and writing another feature called The Whales Sleep Standing.

He served as Artistic Director of the Children’s Section of Cyprus Film Days and organized the EFA Young Audience Award in Cyprus (2019–2021).

At the moment, Petros is one of two Artistic Directors for Cyprus Film Days International Film Festival.
